Built in 1974 Four Paddle is a concrete high rise that is popular with both tourists and residents. While the building is residentially zoned there are still a dozen or so units in the building that maintain a non-conforming use certificate that allows them to be rented out short term. Four Paddle is situated in a quieter area of Waikiki but is still only a pleasant 10 minute walk to the beach.
Common Areas for Residents
While Four Paddle is an older building the common areas - lobby, hallways, elevators and central AC were all recently updated and the building is well maintained. Residents enjoy a spacious recreation deck with a pool, lounge area, covered BBQs, hot tub and dry Sauna. Security includes: secure lobby, security guards, video surveillance and Enterphone system. There is also covered guest parking which is not common for many buildings in Waikiki.
Private Condo Features
Each unit comes with its own washer dryer hook-up, a lanai and central AC. Units 02-08 will be on the ocean side while units 01 and 09-12 are on the mountain side.
The Bottom Line Best features: Good value, quieter location, efficient layouts.
Potential Drawbacks: The development of the Ritz Carlton across the street will be blocking some of the spectacular ocean views but there will still be some good views to be had between the towers and the high end investment of the Ritz will be an overall boost to the area.
